DMCA / Copyright Policy
Effective date: July 13, 2026 · Last updated: July 27, 2026
This page explains how to notify Simple Scribe (“Simple Scribe”) of alleged copyright infringement on the Service at https://simplescribe.app, and how we respond under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).
1. Designated Agent
Notices of claimed copyright infringement should be sent to our Designated Agent:
Agent name / title: Copyright Compliance
Service provider: Simple Scribe (Simple Scribe)
Email: dmca@simplescribe.com
Phone: (872) 261-2868
Mailing address: 1 E Erie St Suite 525, Chicago, IL 60611
For DMCA Safe Harbor eligibility, the same agent contact information must also be registered with the U.S. Copyright Office Designated Agent Directory (https://copyright.gov/dmca-directory/). Registration is an operator responsibility outside this website and must use a real physical address and phone number.
2. What to include in a takedown notice
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)(A), a notification of claimed infringement must include substantially the following:
A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works are covered by one notice).
Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate the material (for example, a URL or video ID on the Service).
Information reasonably sufficient for us to contact you (address, telephone number, and email address).
A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
Send notices to dmca@simplescribe.com (preferred) or to the mailing address above. Incomplete notices may delay our ability to respond.
3. How we respond
Upon receiving a valid notice, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the material claimed to be infringing, when required and as appropriate. We may notify the user who posted or uploaded the material.
Acceptable use of the Service is also described in our Terms of Service. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or terminate accounts for copyright or other Terms violations.
4. Counter-notification
If you believe material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to our Designated Agent that includes:
Your physical or electronic signature.
Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and the location where it appeared before removal.
A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or for any judicial district in which Simple Scribe may be found if your address is outside the United States), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notice or that person’s agent.
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material unless the original complainant files an action seeking a court order and notifies us as provided by the DMCA.
5. Repeat infringer policy
In appropriate circumstances, Simple Scribe will terminate accounts of users who are repeat infringers. We may also take other action we deem appropriate for copyright abuse.
6. Misrepresentations
Under the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing—or that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification—may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees.
